Lower Burne is an appealing chalet-style house in a rural, yet accessible, setting around two miles south of the village of Bickington and the A38, surrounded by picturesque countryside.

Estimated to have been built in the late 1950s to early 1960s, the property has been enlarged and improved over the years to offer family-sized accommodation. It could very easily provide a ground floor annexe for an extended family and has three reception rooms. There is a full oil-fired heating/hot water system, supplementary solar hot water and the windows are double glazed.

Most of the rooms on both floors take in lovely views over the gardens and surrounding rolling countryside. Indeed the outside space is a real feature with large expanses of lawned gardens, large patio seating/entertaining area and a heated swimming pool. The whole plot extends to between half and three quarters of an acre, as measured on Promap.

Burne is a country hamlet consisting of a handful of properties and there are plenty of scenic walks on the doorstep within the high-hedged Devon lanes. The nearby village of Bickington with its church, meeting hall and public house/restaurant is only a few minutes' drive away.

The towns of Newton Abbot and Ashburton (each around a ten minute drive) provide an excellent choice of shops and facilities including a mainline railway station at Newton Abbot. Further afield, Exeter and Plymouth are within easy commuting distance via the A38 and the south Devon coastal areas of Teignmouth and Torbay little more than 30 minutes' drive. The wide, open spaces of Dartmoor, including Haytor and Widecombe, are just a few miles up the road.
