The Laurels enjoys a lovely sheltered situation nestled within the tiny hamlet of Lower Sigford, some two miles north west of the town of Ashburton, on the eastern edge of Dartmoor.

There is beautiful walking and riding country on the doorstep, and the rugged landscape of the open moor is within easy reach.

Ashburton has excellent everyday shops and facilities including butchers, bakers, fish deli, post office, delicatessen, Co-op and Spar stores, plus a Health Centre.

Educational needs are well catered for, with a choice of local primary schools including Ilsington, Blackpool at Bickington, Widecombe and Ashburton, with secondary schools at Ashburton and Newton Abbot. The independent Stover School is a fifteen minute drive.

The A38 at Goodstone/Caton is less than two miles from Sigford and links Plymouth and Exeter, with the national motorway network beyond.

The South Devon coastline, with its sandy beaches and sheltered coves, takes around forty minutes by car.

The Laurels is a particularly well presented single-storey property which can comfortably accommodate a growing family or a couple requiring space for visiting family and friends.

In recent years the property has been greatly improved and upgraded including a fabulous high-end kitchen, new double glazed windows and exterior doors, and replacement soffits and fascias. A new oil fired boiler was installed in 2016.

The living room is of very generous proportions and has French doors leading to the gardens. Several rooms have picturesque views over the nearby fields and the moor in the distance.

The gardens are another attractive feature of The Laurels, and provide a most private and peaceful setting. There is plenty of parking for many vehicles on the gated drive, and a large timber cabin-style garden building is a useful additional space.

From Ashburton, join the A38 at The Linhay junction in the Exeter direction. Once on the A38, ignore the first exit signposted for Sigford and take the next exit for Caton. Proceed to the top of the lane and at Hook Cross go straight across, signposted Sigford. After a mile you will reach a ‘T’ junction, turn left here and The Laurels will be seen immediately on the left.

Alternatively, from Newton Abbot take the A383 towards Bickington/Ashburton. At the end of the road turn right, just before the slip road to the A38, signposted Widecombe and Sigford. Turn right again, signposted Widecombe and Sigford, and after half a mile turn right at Hook Cross, signposted Sigford. Stay on this road for a mile and at the ‘T’ junction turn left, where The Laurels will be found on the left.
