Greenleas is dramatically positioned on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Holne within Dartmoor National Park, surrounded by picturesque countryside and walks. Holne village is a five minute walk and has a shop/ tea rooms, traditional country pub, meeting hall and church. There is another pub accessible along the high-hedged Devon lanes at nearby Scoritton.
Whilst enjoying the many benefits of rural living, Holne is very accessible, with the A38 (for Exeter and Plymouth) little more than a ten minute drive, as is the popular town of Ashburton where there is a very good range of shops and facilities. The larger towns of Totnes and Newton Abbot take just twenty minutes by car and each have mainline railway stations.
Greenleas is a detached bungalow of timber construction which we are advised was originally built in 1930 and greatly renovated and improved in recent years. It occupies a south facing site and enjoys far reaching countryside views.
The accommodation is comfortably appointed and features a good sized living area with cosy wood-burner, kitchen with modern units, and a contemporary white bathroom suite. The original pine doors have been stripped and there are column radiators in all of the rooms. Off bedroom two there is a third child’s bedroom that could also be used as an office/dressing room and which we understand was formerly an en-suite.
Adjacent to the house is a recently built large Studio Building with power, light, radiators, wood-burner and WC, along with wonderful views. Outside, the re-wilded garden sits before the bungalow, and consists of a good expanse of wild grass and flowers, newly planted trees and a mown lawn beneath and around the very large terrace. The drive way has space for two cars. A little further down the lane there is a small prefabricated garage with parking area in front for one car.
